Fill-in Statements: Week 103

FFBadge

Each Thursday, my co-host, Ellen of 15andmeowing, and I provide Friendly Fill-In statements. On Friday, we post our answers with a link-up for you to join us with your own responses. We hope you will copy and answer these on your blog. If you need help, please let us know. If you don’t need help, just say “Hello”. Make it a great day!

Week 103: April 27, 2018

1. I could really use                       .

2.                      is a charity that I like to support.

3. One time, I broke                          , and                         .

4. I wish that I had                  when  I was young.

kindnessresultsinkindness

“Kindness results in kindness.”

A-Z: Willow

The trees bow down
to the raging winds,
knowing that
resistance causes pain.
Sometimes peace
can only be attained
through surrender.

~McGuffy Ann Morris

There is a quiet wisdom in trees. They can teach us to bend without breaking or to stand our ground firmly. There comes a time for surrender, but we must ultimately decide that for ourselves. Peace always comes at a price.

A-Z: Victory

I did not win anything for others or myself,
by taking my courage down, from off the shelf.
I proved nothing when all was said and done.
I was there, saw it all, and still believe I won.

~McGuffy Ann Morris

This addresses our inner battles that others may not even be aware of. Sometimes it is in surviving that we win. Sometimes, the courage comes from continuing on, no matter how difficult things get. The victory can be that you persevered, knowing that it only mattered to you. And, in that moment, that is what matters the most.

A-Z: Unspoken

Things said and unsaid,
both raw and painful.
Scars ran deep,
wounds beneath
never able to heal.
Things could never
be undone;
compromise and tolerance
worn far too thin.
Defeat was now
too heavy to bear,
even together.
Walking away,
time and silence
swallowed their leftover
unspoken words.

~McGuffy Ann Morris

This poem can speak of various kinds of relationships. In fact, for me, it does.

Clyde Has a Minion

0
Clyde is the very best brother that any kit could have. Stormie knows this to be true. By choice, these two have bonded very closely.
1
Stormie is feral. Her emotions are all very close to the surface. Clyde is teaching her how to share and play nicely. She is learning patience, too.
2
Stormie is becoming secure in most things, slowly but surely. She likes to sleep in the old cardboard hide-out. She loves to play in the red tent.
3
They were discussing this when Clyde decided to calmly get into the tent and just sit down.
4
Stormie trusts Clyde totally. She loves him.  But, when he got in her red tent, she had a minor hissy fit. Patiently, Clyde let her know that did not work. He sat there and hummed.
5
They have worked things out quite well. Clyde is truly amazing. Stormie responds to his lessons. Maybe it is his humming that is calming to her. Clyde hums. All the time.

Sparks: 29

It is my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It becomes my weekly meditation. I hope that perhaps it can feed another’s spirit as well. With that in mind and heart, I invited others to join me.

There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy. The negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a part of this dark, negative storm. But, we can change that.

I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. There is hope. Together, we can light up the entire world!

Prayer is a wonderful thing. It benefits the ones the prayer is for, as well as the one who is praying. Prayer brings one closer to God and His way. Prayer is the path and also the vehicle. Never stop praying. But, it should not end there. Actions are still needed to change the world.

How your hands can bring about a positive change is for you to decide. Be an advocate. There are letters to write, things to make, calls to place, and supplies to gather. Volunteer. There are babies to rock, mouths to feed, hands to hold, tears to dry. We can each do something. Use your gifts and your talents to change the world. Be the change.

New Moon29

Sparks is open Monday through Friday each week. When joining, please post a positive quote, poem, or some inspirational words. Be creative but be positive! Please add the Sparks badge to your post so others can see it and find your Sparks. Then, link your post to ours here. And, shine, shine, shine!

A-Z: Thirst

waterpump

Lee was tired and thirsty. He had walked for miles. Finally, he came across a small service station. Looking around, he saw an old faucet.

Relieved, Lee gulped the fresh, cold water before filling his canteen. Knowing it would soon be dark, he then quickly packed up.

As Lee passed the station door, a voice called to him. “Can I help you?”

Lee responded, “No, thanks. I just stopped to get some water from the faucet by the fence.”

Laughing, the voice called back, “Hope you ain’t thirsty. That rusty old faucet ain’t worked in years!”

~McGuffy Ann Morris

This kind of writing takes me to a different place than poetry does. Poetry is more concrete and personal to me. This kind of writing is magical in its freedom. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the proverbial grey area between what is real and what may or may not be.
