"Inner Peace"

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can resist complaining and
 boring people with your troubles,

If you can understand when your loved
 ones are
too busy
to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and
 blame without resentment,

If you can conquer tension
 without medical help,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

If you can relax without alcohol…

  1. I am doglike in my fairly newly decaffeinated life. My GERD goes all spazzy on me if I drink coffee. I've become darn near a teetotaler for the same reason. Can't say I don't ever complain about the aches and pains, though!
    Ah, middle age.

  2. No, cats are much less tolerant and more persistent when they feel neglected. Dogs will go with the flow much more easily. At least that is our experience with rescue and pets. It seems most agree. But, that is what makes them equally lovable…they are two sides of the story. I love them both!

  3. I don't speak woof … and in fact I don't speak anything, as you know, until I have had my first (but not last) cup of coffee. So, I guess that means I am not the family dog … Izzi agrees 🙂

  4. Omigosh I love this! I do, however, have a dog who complains about everything. I swear if that dog could speak I'd be out of my mind. If he's trying to nap and you disturb him by having a conversation he'll moan and groan so loud and so long. It's hilarious.
