"Prevent Cruelty to Animals" Month

April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month! Here is your chance to join others in taking a stand for animals! Whether you donate your time or money, care or supplies, adopt, or just show care and kindness, please do something for animals this month. Help end cruelty and promote love.

Many domestic animals are homeless, neglected or abused. They need someone to care; let it be you. If you adopt, consider a rescue. Please be kind to strays.

Often shelters have wish lists. Check your area organizations to see if they need donations of supplies. Perhaps you have something they need.

Also, please remember to care about the wild animals around us. Please be conscious of their hardships in the world today. They did not choose to live as they are forced to. They are helpless, too. Also: “Slow down, when driving”!

Be part of the solution, not the problem. Save a life. Everyone benefits.

  1. Wonderful reminder about the importance of being caretakers for the animals of this world… they depend on us! This is a great list of suggestions of ways that everyone can help, it isn't hard, it just takes a caring heart! Our Sophie is a shelter rescue kitty and she is the sweetest furkid I have ever known!

  2. All my pets have been unwanted animals and I have sheltered them with lots of love and they have given me back more that I've given them I think. I agree on Supporting animal shelters with supplies and pet food or money.

  3. Thank you for reminding me. I believe that the way a person treats an animal is an indication of how they will treat a human. It's so sad that those without a voice are subjected to the inhumane things that they suffer. I've always had shelter cats and will continue to do so when it's time again for another animal in our lives.

  4. Thanks for sharing this info. Did not know this. Will try to give more time to the TNR program I support. Purrs and hugs fromJanet & the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
