Squirrel Buffet

We love all of our resident squirrels.
They share the bird feeders and suet, so
long ago Bill put up the corn cob holder, and
peanut jar-feeder that holds whole peanuts.
They go through the little house to get the
peanuts out of the jar, often enjoying them
right there, inside the little house! Yum!
Hope you have an enjoyable day, too!

  1. I love watching them eat…it is so fascinating!! The little house is a great idea. We have a similar setup without the house… Great Idea & great post! Thanks for sharing…

  2. That is really nice of you to fix a place for the squirrels. Looks like they really like their house and their corn cob. Does it keep them from eating the bird seed?? Have a super day.

  3. I used to LOVE feeding the squirrels here until my neighbors reported me. I live in a condo/apt complex and neighbors don't take kindly to what were 2 or 3 squirrels, turning into a dozen! I loved it though! They built a nest in the attic and my across-the-hall neighbor claimed they kept her up all night, hence no more squirrel feeding for me. I adore the little guys though!

  4. These photos are amazing! Depending on the day, we have two to three squirrels here helping themselves to the bird seed. The little house with the jar of peanuts attached is so clever. I am going to forward the e-mail notification with the photos in it to my best friends who is a nut for squirrels. Thank you so, so much for sharing. Janet

  5. What a great idea!
I am forever trying to keep them out of my bird feeder – because they will gobble it all up daily. but if they had their own feeder, maybe they wouldn't steal the birds dinner so much! 🙂

  6. Your pictures are great. We have a couple of squirrels around too because I feed the birds and put out a pan of seed for the critters too. They are so fun to watch and one of them loves to tease our cat on the other side of the patio door.
