Friendly Fill-ins: Week 91

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. Please link your post as directed. You can answer in the comments if you need to. Remember to visit other blogs. It takes a while, and you will be glad that you did.

I am settling into WordPress. Thank you all who have helped. I finally have the links up on most of my Pages. I still need to link up my book reviews. But, life is busy.

I am still battling a chronic cough. Lots of appointments and tests have given answers to some things, but more questions about other things.  Among other things, we are looking at changes in my asthma treatment. Nothing is simple with autoimmune illnesses.

We are into February, now. Happy Ground Hog Day! No matter what Phil or his friends say, Spring begins next month. So, stay warm and think Spring.

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe, warm, and healthy. I will see you soon! Here are my weekly Friendly Fill-Ins.

1. Trust no one. You had to see that coming. I am an X-Phile. Okay, now that I have that out of my system, on with my real thoughts on this. Trust is something that is there or it isn’t. If it isn’t, there is a reason that needs to be evaluated. Trust is earned, and once it is broken, it is never the same. It can be rebuilt, but the stain remains. Be trustworthy.

2. I would protest antagonism. The negative pot-stirring has got to stop. The hate and negativity are destroying us all. We are burning down our own House. If this continues, there will be nothing left of the House that our ancestors built.

3. I have had Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) since I was a kid. It is severe, now. I have it most of 24/7. If you are not familiar with it, thank heaven. Really: you should go thank heaven. If you are familiar with it, bless your heart. I have tried everything, but relief eludes me.

4. Right now, I am working on my second installment of my dog stories. I posted Velvet’s story a while ago. It is time to share Grits. I will have his story ready very soon.

  1. While i don’t know from direct experience, i do know about RLS, and it’s awful and my heart goes out to you on that, as well as the asthma.

We do need to cut out with the negativity, and soon. Maybe if we’d all turn off the TV and talk to each other it could help.

  2. Wonderful fill-ins……you are ever so right about antagonism and negativity……and that’s why I’ve tried to tune most of that OUT and stay on the “bright side”. I’ve lived too long to do anything else BUT that. RLS is awful I’m sure….I believe I have a very slight touch of it but only at night. I sure hope you will get some answers on your cough – ones that lead to solutions! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    Love, Pam (and Teddy too!)

  4. Yes, the negativity and antagonism are tearing our country apart, and it breaks my heart because I believe so strongly in the US as a place where there should be opportunity, peace, and justice for all. I think we as individuals have to approach our daily lives with a sense of kindness and respect for others, no matter who they are. I hope you find some relief from your health issues. 🙂

  5. I like all your answers. I’m with you with the number 1 and 2.
I’m sorry about your RLS. My son has it and it makes it difficult for him to have a good night sleep.

The groundhog didn’t see his shadow this morning so it means an early spring…
    Hugs, Julia

  6. I’m so sorry you suffer RLS so severely. ~hugs~ How awful. I’m so lucky only to have known a colleague who suffered. I really like your answers and look forward to Grits’ story. That photo of Velvet is epic.

  8. Excellent fill-in answers. I am sorry you can’t find relief for restless leg syndrome- have you tried the
prescription meds for it? You re doing your part to end negativity with your Monday Sparks. We love The X-Files too- have you been watching the new ones? Have a nice weekend! XO

  9. I too am so fed up with all the negativity especially from the left. Couldn’t we all just be polite and get on with our own lives? No one is perfect and I say let’s focus on the good. Have a lovely weekend and I hope you feel better soon!

  10. Your initial answer to #1 made me laugh, but it also ended so profoundly. I wouldn’t say I have chronic restless leg syndrome, but I usually have about one day and/or night per month where it suddenly appears out of nowhere and just about drives me nuts. I pray that your RLS, your cough, and all other maladies abate for you!

  12. 1 made me laugh so hard, I love the X files too. That series was popular here in Germany. I adore Scully, and I was able to watch Gillian Anderson playing in “A doll’s house” in London in 2009.
RLS is really annoying, I am lucky my medication helps and it is stable right now.
    Have a great weekend,
    Viola.

  13. Amen to your thoughts on antagonism!! I am so tired of the negativity, hate, and continual bashing. It isn’t solving anything, it is only making things worse. Everyone can see the problems, we need to be part of the solutions!

I am sorry you have to deal with severe RLS in addition to the other medical issues you live with. I know it is miserable, and it affects your ability to get some much needed sleep.

Heading off to read Velvet’s story, will be looking forward to the one you’re working on about Grits! XOXO

  14. Good fill-ins. I do hope your doctors can figure things out and find some relief for you. Hubby suffers on occasion with asthma and it’s not fun. Not very familiar with RLS but hope that can be helped. I like the picture of the helpers! Trust has to be the basis of any relationship. Once lost it’s nearly impossible to regain. Sure hope you feel better and have a wonderful weekend! Love and hugs 🤗

  16. I am sorry about your cough and truly sorry about the RLS. I have had it before and it is enough to drive me insane when it happens. I try everything from slapping my legs to walking and walking…well, I’m sure you know the agravation of it if you have it all day. Sending {hugs} and prayers that you find relief. I agree with you about what is happening right now in our country. It is making me sick so I have to take breaks from the news. I do not know who to believe anymore and I find that so many will spread the lies faster than a speeding bullet which makes it all that much worse.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and truly hope you feel better. Love your new site!

  17. The worst part of the antagonism is that the people on the offense tend to be huge hypocrites – and they refuse to listen to any other view point – the very same things they blame on other groups. I’m proud of my open mind … proud that I’ve had my mind changed on several different accounts after a debate. Hate is the enemy … the enemy aren’t people who disagree with us!

    • You definitely addressed many of my thoughts here. One issue that I find disturbing is how some will judge others as bad, even evil others for certain behaviours or beliefs. They will even make fun of them, like a grade school child. They actually often do those very things they said make others bad. And, the answer is never resistance; it is change. Resistance is an negative energy without the positive action of change.

  18. What a sweetie Velvet is. Totally agree with your #1, that was mine as well. #2 is great, and we love the kitty cure for restless leg. So sorry this is yet another thing you’ve been dealing with, Annie. You are my hero for how you carry on each day! Sending love, hugs and prayers. Hope you, Bill and the critters have a terrific weekend. XOXO, Janet 💖

  19. Great fill-ins you came up with this week. About #2, perhaps you may want to skip reading mine. Heh heh. We old hippies protest everything. TW’s meds give her restless leg but it’s usually not too bad. The charlie horses are what’s bad. Have a good week.

  20. We always enjoy your fill in responses. And we never trust what a rodent says. Here in the midwest, we can always count on 6 more weeks of winter…sometimes even more.

  21. I agree with you about negativity and especially the sort that try’s to stir everyone else into the same way of thinking.
Hope you have lots of writing time over the coming weeks to work on your book.
    Have a really lovely week.
