Sparks: 23

It is my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It becomes my weekly meditation. I hope that perhaps it can feed another’s spirit as well.

There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy. The negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a part of this dark, negative storm. But, we can change that.

I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. There is hope. Together, we can light up the entire world!

My offering this week is a quote is from one of my favourite authors. She is also one of my favourite people. Lauretta Hannon is known as The Cracker Queen. Reading her memoir is like hearing the tales from my own southern roots. If you are not familiar with Lauretta Hannon, I encourage you to check her out. Get to know this strong American woman.

Lauretta often posts inspiring quotes and stories. Her posts are relatable. This one made me cry when I read it. I know this to be a deep, abiding truth. It resonates to my very core. Thank you, Lauretta. I love your style. Hugs.

  1. Well this one makes me think, for sure. I agree with it as such- if we think we have lost something and our lives will be miserable because of it- there is always a new tomorrow. Don’t carry around the past, so to speak. Thanks for hosting. My spark today is a bit neutral, but it’s where my head is lately…wanting to get outdoors and tired of this miserable winter rain.

  5. Definitely a quote that will make a person stop and ponder. I’m not sure how I feel about it….but it does make me run different meanings through my head!

  7. Wow, Annie…I am not too sure how I feel about this one and will need to think on it a while. I may look for you to explain to me what Hannon is really saying here. I am not familiar with this author but will check her out. Thanks for the opportunity each week to participate in Sparks and read some things to uplift us. It’s a great way to begin our week. Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers, Janet 💖
