Friendly Fill-ins: Week 100

We are happy you are here for Week 100 of the Friendly Fill-Ins! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. Please link your post as directed.

We are well into the A-Z Blogging Challenge, which is very time-consuming. I understand there is just so much time in one’s schedule. Please know that even when I do not have time to comment, I do read everyone’s blogs. It is hard to keep up with everything, but I do my best. FurKids always come first, and they have been keeping me busy.

Furkids Update: Chloe Jo is holding her own. She will have more tests next week to evaluate the big picture. Her will is strong, but her little body is not. Clyde tires easily but is like a bull in a china shop when he can be. He is still a kitten and is all boy. He will be playing full throttle, and suddenly just flop down to rest. He’s got this. And, we have his back. Maggie P. gets a little slower, and sleepier each day. Both, the mass in her throat and her heart condition are issues that won’t go away. But, she is content and doing pretty well to function pain-free. We are very careful to offer a quality of life over quantity of years for all of them. We will do whatever they need, as long as they want it. Love does that.

Please join us for Sparks on Monday! The link is open Monday through Friday. You can add your Sparks anytime. My heartfelt thanks to those who participate. You are all inspirations. I always read each one multiple times. I have truly needed the positive energy lately. Thank you. I value and take each one to heart. Namasté.

Have a wonderful weekend. Be happy and healthy. Take care of You.

Here are my completed fill-ins:

1. Music is one of my elements of relaxation. I use it before meditation and again afterward. In general, I have some form of music on almost all of the time. The critters all love music too. They tend to respond to different kinds and have favourite bands, too. More on that in the future!

2. I journal to sort things out, rather than keep track of things. I have done it this way since I first began keeping a diary, at age eight. Some people use, “Dear Diary”. Mine was, “Dear God”. Now, it is just open writing, but I know God still reads it.

3. I have a hard time communicating with people who question everything that is said. It builds walls, not bridges. No one should have to qualify, justify, or clarify every single thing that is said. Doing this does not forge bonds through understanding. It pushes people apart through mistrust.

4. Faith is easy for me. I truly believe the grace of Faith is one of my gifts. As far back as I can remember, I have had a close relationship with God. I have not led a charmed life, by any means. But, I have never blamed Him. In fact, quite the opposite. He sustains me.

  1. Hi Annie,
All my WordPress blogs are ex-parrots. I honestly hated the platform. My catch-all blog is strandsofeternity dot blogspot dot com (wordpress loves to send my comments to Spam if I use an actual URL.) i’m also at my email address as usual.
I’m also at animalanarchy dot blogspot dot com

  2. Annie,
Thanks for the status report on your furbabies. You’re one special gal to care so deeply for your kitty loves! Saying prayers God gives them the quality of life you desire for them. I loved your responses to these fill-ins. Music is my favorite go-to for destressing and relaxing and I learned about faith early on seeing God work in my life many times only affirmed why I believe in the Almighty. He’s always at work although we may not always see what’s happening. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun and have a good week, dear friend! XO

  3. Love the fill-ins today Annie…..and the updates on your fur children too. I keep all of them and you in my prayers…….I never kept a journal as a child but found my love of “keeping notes” when I began to travel again after I met David. I record every details of our trips including how I felt, things we said and did, what we ate, etc. We have enjoyed reliving those trips through my journals. Have a good weekend dear friend.

    Love, Pam (and Teddy too)

  4. Glad to hear the furkids are holding their own. I haven’t kept a journal in years, but I used to do it to sort things out too. I often still don’t know how I feel about something until I’ve written about it. I had a friend once who always wanted to question and play devil’s advocate in every conversation and turn every talk into a competition. Not enjoyable, and our friendship didn’t last long! I hope you, Bill, and the furkids have a relaxing weekend. 🙂

  5. I absolutely love your fill-ins and pictures to accompany! Appreciate the update on your furrbabies. I know what you mean about quality of life. That’s so important for these little cuddles! How very blessed they are to have you! Big hugs! 😀 ❤

  6. I am sorry you have so many sick furbabies, they are always in my prayers. Great fill-ins answers. That is wise to write things down to understand and sort thing, it does make things clearer. I look forward to you writing about what types of music each kitty and pup prefers.Have a nice weekend! XO

  7. Your furbabies are so blessed to have you. Purrs, woofs, and prayers to all of you!

I used to journal all the time, but then, for some reason, I just stopped. I very recently picked up some new journals and plan on starting up the habit again. It really is so relaxing, as well as helps keep me and my thoughts organized. And, my goodness, I know exactly what you mean with #3. If I’m to be honest, one of my neighbors is this way, and I have such a difficult time conversing with her. Your answer to #4 is so beautiful, and so inspiring.

Thank you for always hosting this fun challenge! I’ll indeed be seeing your for Sparks on Monday as well!

  8. I’m glad to know that your fur babies are holding their own at the moment and I agree about the quality of life over quantity. When their time is up, we have to let them go, no matter how much it hurt.
I like that you write Dear God instead of Dear Diary. I wrote in a diary but I never started with Dear Diary either. I used to start with “Today”… but I don’t know why I did it that way. My prayer and reflection journals have a different beginning too.
    Hugs, Julia

  9. Good to have an update on Chloe, Clyde, and Maggie. I know they are in the best of hands and you all have my prayers. Yes to what you said about music… 🙂 I continue to journal, it keeps me close to people that have passed. I sort out my thoughts when I journal. Enjoy your weekend, Annie.

  11. I love music … it is so powerful. It’s helped me feel things I shut out automatically … it’s given me an outlet for anger … it’s kept me sane while working … and it’s a great stress reliever. Occasionally, I miss performing (I played the violin until I went to college).

  12. I’m glad to hear that everyone is doing ok (considering all of their situations). It’s funny how kittens are overflowing with energy, until they arent! I remember my little Smokey being like an overtired infant and I’d hold her so she’d calm down and then fall asleep.
