A-Z: Requiem

The geese fly away
taking summer with them,
as autumn celebrates
in silent requiem.
Trees are adorned
in finest colour,
as seasons fade
one into another.
Cooler nights seep into days,
sunshine dissolves
into misty haze.
Winter whispers of
what has begun,
while autumn reminds us
Time waits for no one.

~McGuffy Ann Morris

  1. I love the poem. Yes, the two last line resonated with me too. Try as I may, I never can get fully ready for winter in the fall. Time doesn’t wait for me to be ready. It marches on.
